I've read two of Mckee's books, my opinions are well researched. I don't think that having structure is bad. I just don't think that there are any hard and fast rules to making an entertaining story. And that no one knows for sure how to write a good story, if anyone did there would be no bad ones. I also think that uniqe ideas can be hampered by over reliance on these "rules"

I'd literally have to write a book about it myself to fully explain my philosophy on writing. I'm not saying that I know better, but I am convinced of it. I'm going to put this philosophy into practice with my next comic to see if anything comes out of it.

I haven't read Araki's book yet but I need to.

Really enjoyed the last caricature thread so I figured I'd give it another go with fresh inspiration.
