I mean it's good that you didn't trace the photo, but it's not really a good resemblence of her. it is a good exercise to do that, but you need more practice.
when i draw from life or from a photo reference, i don't do grids or anything, as i hate erasing them, it never works. i will try to squint and regard the hair, face, neck as huge flat surfaces and roughly measure their relation to each other just from looking. it's never going to be 100% spot on, but the more you do that, the better you get.
