Overall very nice, just has some slight perspective issues. Draw the seat of the couch/bench as a box. Does it properly go into perspective? The lines to the left and right of his shins don’t line up straight. Then draw a box using his knees and heels as the corners of the front plane of said box. Does that box fit the perspective of the scene?

Based. Pencil or pen and printer paper are good for starting out. One reason is that such low-stakes materials will help you relax and draw more freely than if you were using an expensive tablet or oils. You don’t have to worry about your art being “worthy” of the medium you’re using, so there’s less pressure to be “good.” Drawing is already hard enough, and the first couple thousand drawings will suck, so using cheap trad materials makes getting lots of mileage easier
