Mine relates to yours, so here goes;

The idea that one's style is a fixed and unchangeable thing really bugs the shit out of me. The idea that it develops naturally kind of pisses me off too. That stylization is or should be a largely unconscious element, when stylization can be used as a tool like anything else to effect a given feel to a piece, that just burns me up. Essentially the "development" is just the unconscious application of things we like in art, and I believe we can speed this process up by analyzing and understanding stylization.

But everyone here just seems to want to parrot "Loomis" and "style comes naturally."

There's a couple of ways you could go about it. You could just ape the parts of various styles you like into your own hodpodge, or you could intentionally design a style to serve a specific kind of content.
