Self portrait I made recently.
I'm not sure where to go towards now to progress, exactly. Sometimes I can crack the case of a drawing and get into a flow really fast but sometimes I look at the reference picture and have no idea where to start and end up doing nothing. Worth noting that I haven't dabbled into construction at all so far. Maybe I should read Loomis, but unironically? Pic related is the result of me reading like 30 pages of Keys to Drawing and Drawing on the Right Side of brain simultaneously but that was a long time ago and I have relied on the same observational drawing tricks ever since. So, should I start reading them again or go for Loomis/Vilppu/something else?
