I would agree with you, but it seems like the Popeye movie has been de-cancelled.

Are you a digital fag?
If so, then you could thumbnail with brushes/blobs of color and then use it as base for constructing and solving the draftsmanship problems. Once you've drawn, now you can paint to make it pretty.

If you're working on digital, I have no fucking idea.
Draw with charcoal, maybe watercolors, do something very quick and rough, then find a way to transfer that to your actual canvas for the technical part.
