Not really sure what ref you used, but here are some tips:
Be conscious of the form as you make your brushstrokes. You did a better job of this in >>2950619 especially the head and left arm.
Usually, when you are cleaning up, you want to go along the long axis of the form.

Make sure that your brushstrokes go along with each other. That will make it look less scribbly.

Also, pay attention to edges. You seem to have a difficult time making soft edges, so practice that.
