Copying art styles actually makes you improve faster even when you're at the lowest levels of beg. Look at this Lucca fanart I did yesterday, it totally doesn't look 100% like Toriyama since I was not trying to be like him but I wouldn't even be able to do something like this if it wasn't for the influence of other artists
