I feel you. I got myself Intuos 5 medium in 2013, along with a license for Manga Studio 5 - I do my stuff with those two even though I promised myself I would switch to a drawing screen when my income got better and the price of available drawing screens has gone down gradually.

It's very comfortable to just plug the USB in the front panel of my computer, and then grab and lay the tablet on my desk. As opposed to whatever power ups and plugs you need with the pen screen. It's a simple procedure and I feel it is effective and part of my workflow.

I am going to upgrade my main monitor to support my digital art ambitions later this year.
