Is midpoint method to measure reference, described in Keys to Drawing actually any good? I feel like I'm becoming worse with it. I try to autistically measure every relation between every little thing, but the pieces NEVER fit together and instead everything looks misplased. I try measuring with pencil from my monitor and it obviously has margin of error, but I don't want to pull out a ruler and turn it into technical drafting or some shit. I feel like I can't find a balance between measuring and feeling what's right. I end up redrawing even simplest sketches dozens of times for hours and it still sucks. Right now I am drawing a portrait of my wife, so I can't post it. But I also did it with my previous drawing.

Keys to Drawing. Reclining Figure (Foreshortened).
Barely had time to draw last week, so it actually took me almost 10 days.
Even though I (somewhat) correctly measured midpoints as described in the book, I had a feeling something is not right all the time. I only understood why at the very end. I "moved the camera", closer to the model and the perspective should've changed, but it stayed the same, so it looks unnatural.
Also form sucks, especially her ribcage, it just looks flat, it has no volume and I can't pinpoint why exactly.
There are many details missing, because honestly I burned out on this particular drawing and I am just glad I finished it and can move after being so sluggish for 10 days.
