careful with the value range. you don't need huge jumps in value to make hard edges register. also, lighting can easily start to look blown out if you don't use highlights sparingly, which i think is an issue with your pic.

hopefully the partial paintover helps illustrate both the form and the lighting crit. notice how the hard edges of her breast and armpit disappear as forms flow into each other.
