>exposure

I agree with you, that's why I'm offering money and, at least relative to my own wage, lots of it. I want whoever I work with to find the arrangement agreeable enough at least, if not be elated. I'd been pressured into working for free before myself so I know how it is, and that's not what I'm about. I just have my own limitations to consider as well.

I go out of my way to purchase things from artists I support. I disagree vehemently with theft from living artists when so many books by dead ones are so readily available. I have purchased all of Proko's content (which is not quite done) and have an active subscription to New Master's Academy

That said, if a book specifically isn't translated in your language or otherwise meant for your "market" I think you're well within your bounds to pirate it.

>thanks, though I'm a bit confused. are you saying that you have to be a good artist to go to art school

I am saying, without the slightest hint of irony, that yes, you should not attend art school without being very competent already, if at all. This was a precedent set by almost all art schools before the late 1800's and early 1900's when "subjectivity" and artistic nihilism became the cause célèbre of the art world.

>they said it was fine. but my evaluator apparently didn't

Your evaluator is the unsung hero in all of this. Instead of mindlessly praising you like the other staff he sent you the very important message that you're not going to make it at your current level, which is the hard and absolute truth of the matter. People like your evaluator in the past would have been tasked with carefully guarding entry into the school-as some respectable schools still do today. The reason many schools don't maintain that tradition is because they want to take your money and they don't care about what the consequences might be for you personally.

The good thing is, you're still very young and you have a ton of time to rectify this problem, but it starts with you taking the evaluator's message to its logical conclusion and dropping out.

By the way, sorry for flipping my shit out at you my man, you didn't deserve that, but the whole thing is crap and I'm genuinely worried that you're going to find out the hard way like so many others have. I honestly hope you graduate and leave and get job offers left and right, but statistically speaking the odds aren't spectacular and I certainly hope your professors have been open and honest with you about that fact.
