IMo the first one looks better. In the first one you could fix it by picking areas to have sharp edges. In the new one it’s pretty much one value or very subtle value change which you’d use more to shade a soft face than clothing. I’d redline or paint over it but I’m working on my own crap atm. Also I’m prob not even good enough to critique so take what I say with a heavy dose of salt.

Also I know the irony about talking about edges and shit when my art is soft brush mush...
