i was told to read pic related but i've no fucking idea what to do once i have the book. i've literally never read a drawing book before. is it just full of pictures that I have to copy and hope for the best? does it tell me like drawing exercises or some shit? im honestly fucking lost for how it would help. not saying it wont, im sure these books do something, i just havent a fucking idea what that something is.

Anons opinions about this figure drawing book? Felt a bit aimless with all the different ones but after researching this one it seems like it's an easier to see and understand starting point than Bridgman, while also doing a better job of explaining things than Loomis.

Ordered it just now, I figure I might as well go with a book that an artist I like recommends.

I really like Hampton's book. And I know his book is not an anatomy book but I'm wondering if his way of drawing the simplified forms for the bones and muscles is actually decent enough to draw figures? After all, we cover the body in clothes anyway so I feel like just enough anatomy is fine.

If it's not enough, what's missing from his book? And what books would you recommend?

I'm aiming for stylized comic book art if that helps.
