The truth is anime characters are based on what is selling in otaku culture. You draw Japanese cartoons but don't know a thing about their industry.

There is a loli season (i.e 80% of the anime aired that season is loli), there is a catastrophic season (i.e most anime aired that season is post-apolitical) and so on.
