I should make clear that I am not a janitor for /ic/ and play no role in deleting posts/threads.

Rule #2 is enforced, perhaps sporadically. Whether or not a post has crossed a line can be a subjective thing. A particularly offensive post is more likely to be deleted if reported, but clearly none of us want heavy-handed moderation. Everything is relative. It's important to look at all of this through the prism of 4chan culture and the subcultures of individual boards.
