i networked (made mutuals) from 0, while posting art. thats really all that i did. i brown nosed some shitty, larger artists for a bit in order to hope for a retweet, but also made genuine connections with talented and skilled people. i dont chase trends and i dont do fanart either, but the quality of my work is pretty unique and i see myself around /adv/ skill level

also i agree with your response to >>6075625 i've seen, and am mutuals with, artists that are 20x worse, and they basically just smear shit on a canvas and call it art, getting 10k likes, and 30k followers.

if i was you i would probably just try making mutuals with people within your niche and improving your work and fundies, and you'll make it, gl !
