Not sure if OP is still in this thread, but I thought about the answer to their question for a while today and I just want to get it off my chest if nothing else.
I think people are inherently flawed. Not in like some divine sense, like original sense, but more so how we always have this void in us; how we tend to frequently feel empty and even when we try to fill it with material things we just can't. The best we seem to be able to do is either be so busy we don't notice it, or turn to creation/expression as a means of coping. That's where I think art comes in. Art "fills" that void, at least for a little bit, in that it allows you to both create something and to express yourself at the same time. Good art also has the advantage that when others consume it (either vie looking at it or listening to it based on what is applicable) they also feel fulfilled temporarily too, like your work/emotions are filling them up. Thus, I want to make good art that not only "fills" me up, but fills up those who view it and makes them feel like they have less of a void.
>TL;DR: Humanity is the problem. Art is the solution.
