This is a thread to discuss all kinds of digital drawing hardware: non-display graphics tablets, pen display tablets, portable tablets and more.

>What should I buy?
State your:
>Budget
>Location
>Type (display? non-display? portable?)
>Size (in inches)
>Other information
>Previous equipment

If you have any additional questions, ask them.

>Recommended tablets:

Intuos 3 - Best budget tablet.
Intuos Pro M - The best non-display tablet.
Samsung Galaxy Tab S6 Lite - Budget portable display tablet. Very solid drawing experience with Wacom EMR tech.
Used iPad Pro 2nd Gen 12.9" - Best option for a display tablet.
Galaxy Tab S7+ - Good premium alternative to an iPad Pro

>Avoid:

XP-Pen, Huion, Gaomon and every other Chinese brand - Poor build quality, lackluster pens, broken tilt, struggles to register light pressure, horrible customer support and the displays are not calibrated. All Chinese brands are basically the same because they're all centralized. Also watch, Chinese companies shill HARD on /ic/. Check out the webm to understand how bad they are.
Microsoft Surface Pro - The N-Trig digitizer means you will always get wobbly lines.
Lenovo - Bad drawing performance.

>Recommended tablets:

Intuos Pro 2013 - Great value, and the nibs won't wear out in 5 seconds like they do on the newer model.
Samsung Galaxy Tab S6 Lite - Budget portable display tablet. Very solid drawing experience with Wacom EMR tech.
Used iPad Pro 2nd Gen 12.9" - Best option for a display tablet.
Used Cintiq 22HD - The only worthwhile large display tablet
Wait for the Galaxy Tab S7+

>Avoid:

Cintiq Pro - Terrible value. The drawing experience might be good, but you're paying way too much for an unreliable product. Dead pixels are frequent, as are black screens of death.
Microsoft Surface Pro - The N-Trig digitizer means you will always get wobbly lines.
Huion, XP-Pen, Gaomon and every other Chinese brand - Poor build quality, lackluster pens, bad tilt, horrible customer support and the displays are not calibrated. All Chinese brands are basically the same because they're all centralized under the communist regime. Also watch out, Chinese Companies are known to shill aggressively, even on 4chan.
Lenovo - Bad drawing performance.

Since there have been a lot of threads about these lately, I thought it would be a better idea to just make a general.

This is a thread to discuss all kinds of digital drawing hardware: non-display graphics tablets, pen display tablets, portable tablets and more.

>What should I buy?
State your:
>Budget
>Location
>Type (display? non-display? portable?)
>Size (in inches)
>Other information
>Previous equipment

>Non-Display Tablets
Intuos Pro Large - Most expensive, but the best.
Deco Pro Medium - Best value, very good drawing.
Avoid small tablets like the Intuos Small and Bamboo Lite.

>Display Tablets
Cintiq Pro 24+ - The best drawing experience money can by, but massively overpriced and serious quality control issues. Not recommended.
Artist 24 Pro - Decent large-sized QHD budget option. Worse pen than wacom, and no bonded screen.
Artist 15.6 Pro - Very nice medium-sized budget option. Comes with a bonded screen to minimize parallax.
Cintiq 16-22 (non-pro) - Slightly more expensive than the XP-Pen counterparts, no bonded screen, but comes with a better pen.

>Portable Tablets
iPad Pro 3rd/4th Gen - Best portable drawing experience, but massively overpriced. Apple Pencil is an additional $150. Buy used if you can.
Samsung Galaxy Tab S6 Lite - Fantastic value. Pen uses Wacom EMR tech so it's really good. The Android ecosystem is not as strong as iOS/iPadOS.
iPad 7th gen - Budget iPad, worse performance. No bonded screen so there will be parallax.
Microsoft Surface Pro - Good general purpose device, but not optimal for drawing due to n-trig pen. Lines have noticeable jitter, so autosmoothing is necessary. Heavily overpriced.

If you have any questions, ask them. Also feel free to make suggestions for the OP.

Is there an affordable laptop that'll act as a cintiq tablet on it's own? Pressure detection with a stylus for illustration and graphic design is mainly what I'm going for. I currently own a intuos4 for home use, but I would like to be able to digitally illustrate and sketch on the go.
Currently the only laptops I believe to have pressure sensitivity is the surface series, though I'm not all too sure about it's performance. Thoughts? Suggestions?

Additionally, hardware/tool thread.
