Not that i disagree with this, but being on social media doesn't guarantee you anything and even irl art isn't that different.
You get ahead by kissing the asses of the ones owning businesses, making business connections and manipulate people into getting along with you while making work people want to see.
Social media just makes it quicker and less risky since you can hide behind a profile and never truly show your face or name.

You'd be right if you weren't arguing with your insecurity and the insecurity of others.
People who look for mistakes in art are just insecure artists themselves.
One who enjoys doing and looking at art, tries to translate what he sees into words.

Same with critique.
Of course, among artists, feedback and critique is different. We're all striving to be our best selves, to produce our best work and to reach our full potential. Sometimes you think someone is being too harsh, but that's just your insecurity talking but personally, i'd rather have honest feedback than some hollow praise, because i want to get better, not liked.

Try to see your own mistakes first and then borrow a pair of eyes to confirm what you see.
Effort, especially in the art, is rarely rewarded.
Sure, you can spend months on a piece, you can claim you were sitting 20 hours a day for that, but in the end, it hardly matters if your piece doesn't "speak" to anyone, doesn't comment on anything, doesn't bring any value at all with it.
