>Pro tip: don't darken your colours with grey and lighten them with white.
Yeah I've run into that lesson recently with >>3298489
>Use warmer and darker colours, more intensity and different hues to show dark and light
Have you messed with using blues and yellows much on "finishing" layers? Got mixed filling about it.
>Painting 101: throw away the black paint.
This is one that I've repeatedly had fun ruining paintings with when I was already frustrated. I know very well why not to use black on these, and it's kind of my nuclear button. To me there's a level of spiteful russian roulette when it gets used in late game. For a lot of them I treat a final black layer like it's the finishing touch, where like I officially ruin the painting beyond recovery and can move on, knowing it is dead. Sometimes I've liked the outcome, like >>3301519 >>3301514 >>3301512 >>3301402 . But more often I end up with >>3301410
>>3301401
>>3301397
etc.
>If you really need a black tone, mix burnt umber and blue to make a black.
Thanks for the actual employable advice m8. I'll try a run of that. Been goofing around with mixing blues and reds to do build color under the skin with >>3298485 and >>3298483 and probably be doing at least one more go-around on them and >>3298481 and >>3298479 and >>3298475 and >>3298472 tbphwyf

Appreciate it bud.
