If you're not gonna use a brush with opacity by pen pressure you might aswell be using microsoft paint.

Use a brush that allows to make light/opaque lines when pressing lightly and dark/bold lines with when pressing heavy. This will allow you to make small sketchy lines you can use to find the form and then press heavy to make an actual line when youve found the form and want to represent it.
