I think it has less to do with rendering, and more to do with your values. Your values all tend to lean towards mid-tones, which causes your colors to bleed together and look muddied, which can make the overall piece feel "same-y".

I did a quick edit here to show that your rendering itself is almost there, but with some simple adjustments, it can go a long way to making your colors feel more alive.

On a side note, your lineart is fantastic and I have to commend you for that.
