I havent made any meaningful art progress in years.

I get too distracted by games or the internet to really commit to art.I like to tell myself it's because of my environment (recently moved and staying in a small space) but I know if I wanted to get shit done I would.

It's like I dont want to be an artist even though it's the only thing I want to end up being. I cant think of any other career goals I want, but I'm too lazy/indulgent to become one, so I'll end up being nothing,

For me it goes

>get home from work
>"Man I'm tired, I'll just watch some youtube or netflix"
>Hours pass
>man I've got to eat
>eat while continuing to watch Youtube, Netflix or Twitch streams
>Feeling horny, gonna fap
>maybe I should draw like I said I would
>I dont feel like it now, what would I even draw now I've got 8 hours before work tomorrow
>I'll do it tomorrow

Even on days off

>still tired somehow
>hang out for a while
>work up the nerve to draw
>draw for like 45 minutes, not happy with the progress/results
>get distracted by something else
>I should keep drawing
>look at my earlier progress
>get depressed/disillusioned

I still cant get to the point where I can sacrifice video games for art.

I realize I'm never going to make it this way but there are just so many games I care about and want to play. And I'm particularly fond of the long JRPGs that take like 40+ hours.

Literally haven't drawn in 4 days.

Currently "The Unfinished Sketch" here.

I dont think I've EVER completed a work that wasn't for some assignment. Even in my various sketchbooks the closest I've ever gotten is doing lineart over them but never color or value really.

Been trying to break out of this as I transition to digital but painting is so overwhelming to me. I completely suck at color theory, and the thought of spending hours getting colors right frustrates me because then I think of all of the new sketches/ideas I could be doing in that time.
