These two iterations are very good in their own right, the newer one is an engaging goth chick aesthetic that can be pushed forward into a more powerful design. However, I believe it's the concept itsels is a little too basic, she is a goth chick and that's it, nothing else to tell here... So I propose you a different idea based on my impressions on the first iteration, an Occult (ish?) Goth Chick.

My advice when it comes to design is to go further the base tropes and check what else you can add to the storytelling element of them. Also another advice is to do your homework when it comes to inspirations, for this I half assed a goth/occult aesthetic because I know jack about either, but if I pushed it a little further, I'd research a little more on goth culture, aesthetics and as well occultism topics that could fit the character overall idea.

Also, about the basic design advices you already got, I agree to those except silhouettes and shape language, personally I think that you should only concern deeply about them once you have the design completely figured out, because making the most of silhouettes and shapes requires you to do changes to what's already established, so you'd better have a solid design before then just so you dont suffer having to do mayor changes.

Hope it helps, anon!
