But, if everything is inherently meaningless, then art has no more or less meaning than doing anything else. so at least if you're wasting your time like that its a net neutral

At what point should you stop looking at art as a career and start seeing it as a hobby?

I don't know how i will deal with my parents death in the future, i can't imagine my life without them, it's so lonely.
My mom won't wake me up in the morning anymore, the father won't go to the supermarket and buy snacks for everyone from time to time anymore.
I'm 22 and they're in their 60s now.

I move around too often so I'm unable to bring a lot of my art supplies with me. All I take with me is a sketchbook and a pencil. The rest just sits at my parents place collecting dust while I try to find a place to call my own. I spend all of my commission cash on bus tickets.

I'm running dangerously low on art supplies and can't even find an apartment on an artist's wage. I'm about ready to give up on art and go for music like I've been advised to.

is anyone else a hikkikomori on this board? i've gotten to a point where i hate going outside due to my gender identity issues. i have some money to get by right now and i push myself through practicing art because thats seriously all i have, but i sink back into this pit of oblivion if i stop paddling even just for a sec. sometimes i go days without practicing any art and that's really a waste of time, especially since my money is gonna run out sooner or later (i saved up for it).

i've gotten to the point where i stopped gaming nor talk to my discord buddies anymore

im thinking of finally giving in and just taking antidepressants to deal with the loneliness and the disgust with my body. the only thing that will remotely make me happy is "making it" but i am not there yet. its hard but god fuckin damn i hope it's worth it. i just need something to numb the voices inside my head so i can keep practicing and being productive. and there's so many voices in my head.
