$50 is the lowest you can sell something for and still have the money received be useful to you for the time spent working in it. However, that doesn't mean $50 is expensive. Far from it. Its a baseline price.
>Sketch
You should be aiming for $50-$70 for a detailed sketch(make it look good despite being unpolished, you can't complain if people don't want to buy missing body parts and scribbly lines) Not everybody buys sketches though so try not to focus on them and make some finished works.
>Lineart
$80-$100 on average. Your lineart should be mostly clean and easily readable. If your lineart and sketch stage are the same, then the same rules apply.
>Grayscale/Flat Colors/Colors and Shading
$100-150+ at this level of completion. People tend to pay more for colors over grayscale. Full shading usually goes for more than cel shading because it takes longer. These pieces usually take at least a couple hours to complete so charge accordingly.
These are all base prices and should raise as you improve. Art is a luxury. Don't let (((people))) make you work for less than fast food employees for skilled craft work.
If you don't think your art is at least worth
$50, dont take commissions yet. Get your skills to a place where you can comfortably charge that amount.
Undercharging hurts other artists by making retards complain about realistic prices and especially you.
If yo get a following of penny pinchers, they will call you a jew for trying to raise your prices regardless of how good you are at that point. How much you think you're worth is important to. If you KNOW you can get someone to pay hundreds for your work, go for it. Its all about self respect.
