Don't work on a white background, it can throw your colors off. Try a neutral gray, medium tone. Right now you're using a lot of sel-out, which is typically a bad idea. You're also using too much AA in places (namely the lower right part of the white egg-shaped bit formed by negative space on the right). You could also define the forms a bit better, one way to do this is use a smaller palette with more contrast. If you find you need more colors to blend with after that, you can add them then, but establishing the strong highlights and shadows is important in the beginning.
