Anybody who doesn't paint can only come up with bullshit to justify his taste. Lots of "iconic artists" are shit, their fame (and thus value) engineered by professors and art critic to launder money. This is especially true for contemporary artists, but honestly, quite a few of the old masters are also a sham. Others are only famous because "they were good for their time", like most of the pre-Renaissance ones. They're still shit compared to the actual masters (who lived mostly around the nineteen century). Enjoy your Simpson girl at the Louvre.
