As a beginner trying to figure out figure drawing
During the process of drawing a figure should I focus on the gesture or the construction? As in, do I have to use a mannequin to construct the figure every time or start with the gesture? Or both? At the very least I think I have to draw the horizon line every time for the sake of having at least some amount of perspective
I'm still unsure as to how to go on about things properly. I know some people just construct everything but I also know of artists with good skill that say they never constructed shit, no Loomis or any books, but I have no idea how they figured out how to draw people properly. I'm guessing at that point it comes down to mileage

Obviously not him but how do I do a gesture and also keep the perspective and proportions in check? I am starting to get gesture studies right I think but every time something is off about the body and I don't know how to apply the gesture to imagination work unless I am drawing a pose from my visual library

Well then look at the post count and dont reply to a thread when it's on page 10, silly anon. If it's about to be archived, wait for the next questions thread or better yet make one yourself then ask your question
