Main purpose was to study forms and as a bonus fine details in drawing. Im pretty new and I've done all these studies on gesture, form and such on mannequins and nude models but never really thought about they apply to finer bits and details like trinkets, decoration, etc. Another was to test myself to see how well I can copy and kill off my symbol drawing. Friend recommended me to try it, and it was way out of my comfort zone so I tried it as a challenge. Also the simple fact that I love Adrian Smith's work and I wanted to figure out how he thinks when he draws.
Pic related. This was the first attempt and you can see I failed on the face, hood, hands (more then now), and skulls and symbol drew them without thinking about form. Went back and redrew them with form in mind and it looked a lot better.
