No, I'm a different anon and OP but it's nice that I've seen the other anon echo the same things previously.

Look at the op artist's pixiv. They clearly do figure drawing like croquis/gesture/quick sketch along with drawing a lot from real life images. Learn to draw from life and learn to anime. They're separate skills built on the same foundation but feed back into each other. When you can bring 3d to stylized anime it takes your work to another level.

Learn fundies like copying with measuring and measuring with your eye. Copy everything you can, when you get a handle on this, copy artists you like in any style. Anime styling is really more specific symbols for hair and facial features which are still based on the real anatomy and follow similar rules. The hardest part I had to learn that the West doesn't cover in materials as much (except animators) is focus on drawing shapes of the figure first with informed anatomical basis, then refine with your anatomy knowledge.
