I'm not sure how to exactly put this, but the tween artist on instagram/polished turd/A S T H E T I C art style interests me. The style grew out of A. people wanting to get good at art without putting in the effort or B. People copying A. not knowing what they're doing.

The style at it's worst is a bad artist who uses filters (you know when an art piece has rainbow edges?), certain aesthetics (neon, vapor wave, future funk), memetic ideas (the technical version of meme. Think flower crows. bandages all over. cutting. vitilgo) and imitates artists (because of their lack of talent they also simplify). The image I used is an example of this. They added some filter, gave it the art piece an 'old windows' aesthetic, the memetic idea is their color pallet, and their style is badly copied anime. If you skimmed over the piece or knew nothing about art this would look nice.
What gets me is that this art is that it's the 'weaboo' art of this year, but because of digital editing and those memetic ideas they can turn a 3/10 piece to a 7/10.
What would happen is a good artist deconstructed these ideas and put them in their art? Have you noticed any trends like this IC? Do you know why this aesthetic exists?
