I initially sent them a complete inked/toned manuscript. They liked the drawings but the theme was wrong for their mags and there was plenty of problems with the writing. I submitted a finished storyboard for a more appropriate work for their magazine, and we began fixing it up over the course of a few weeks. They'd seen finished pages from me, but they had me ink and finish a couple of sample pages anyway, so they could pointed out how I should draw certain things differently. A major change they suggested is that I ink the pages with scratchier, rougher line work rather than aiming for clean lines like I had been doing.
Can I see some of your work? Pretend I'm a publisher and you want to convince them you'll draw your best shit with them.
