Pretty much all of college is really about networking and making connections that will help you get your foot in the door later.

My buddy went to Cornell for his masters and at the opening day initiation meeting or whatever the professors and deans were straight up like “you’re likely going into six figure debt to be here, and you’re not paying for the education, you’re paying for the opportunity to share classes and network with future leaders” or whatever.

If you’re going to go to college you need to prep more on improving your networking and social skills than worrying about easy shit like studying or whatever. Nobody will ever care about your grades while you were in school, they’ll care about who you got to know there.

this one kind of rode the afterbirth tidal wave of motivational feels I had from >>3770074

kind of just effortlessly and very quickly made what could be close to one of my best paintings. The only thing I'd consider a mistake is the forehead smudge, everything else gets to fuck you in the unfinished memespace.

Honestly a lot of this is upsetting to me. idk if I could replicate it and it having that wabi sabi inspiration that I get from thinking about that fucking painting.

Like the whole yin/yang concept, structure and chaos competing or however we want to define it. Where when you apply that to art, we kind of determine what makes "good" art when it either rides the line between those things, subverts them, or executes them well. Art is about creative inspiration that comes from from technical production. I'd say I've always been pretty heavily invested in subversion or riding the line, but there's something about pict related, imhotep, that maybe starts to hint at the possibility that they could be well executed AND subversive idk. I get aesthetic feels from it. I feel like Kanye listening to his own album when I look at it. Makes me want to kill myself.

>yeah basically, it's like these annoying vegetarians who feel the need to tell everybody how healthy and smart they are.
What is? Making a youtube video called "How To Paint ADHD?" The point isn't about how it makes you healthy and smart. Kind of the opposite.
>very similar to your whining. got it?
No. What am I whining about?
>need me to paraphrase that once more?
Yeah do it in your language and the global language.
>doesn't matter if you are an amputee, a transgender-faggot or have vertigo. it doesn't fucking matter.
Kind of does. You tell someone a painting was made by an elephant or a gorilla or a child prodigy or whatever and they'll often look at it more empathetically or whatever.
>people look at the art and people judge the art
Eh when you look at someone like Van Gogh. His backstory and place in history is a major part of appreciating his work. The Van Gogh museum is all about justifying why a bunch of wonky drawings of peasants are taking up the second floor.
>no one gives a shit if you have anxiety or adhd.
That's not the point of making a series of videos about how to paint various mental conditions. They "give a shit" about that stuff because it often has universal applications that anyone can relate to. Everyone is essentially on all these spectrums.
>it doesn't make the art any better.
It can certainly make it more interesting. Having a conversation piece aspect to your shit is half the battle.

>but the lighting/shadow is lacking.
yeah u right. That's one that I'm still planning on doing another layer of pinks and highlights. I just stopped working on it after I did that blue run and leave it as is as a guide for other things I'm working on.
>also are fucking crazy or somethiing?

like paintings from the acid phase start after 158. Hindsight Benefit (end of year one, death of Bronson), and then generally was in play for everything up to 258 or 259. Basically 100 paintings were started and worked on, including many of the best ones so far, in the span of like 3-4 months.

>microdosing sounds the best out of all of that to me then.
I know a few other artists and directors that have fucked with it and it's the general consensus. It changes the doors of perception that use and kind of just shuts down all the behavioral habits of laziness and self-justification that normally cripple people( or at least me) from making productive momentum.
>i've been looking at it a bit on the dark net the past couple weeks and it's tempting, especially for >rewiring your brain to ignore anxiety and depression
yeah I'd pretty much recommend that EVERYONE should have an experience with it if they're seriously interested in being a motivated artfag. It fundamentally changes and detaches you from the personal hangups that you are allowing yourself to hold you back.

And the beautiful thing about it is that it's not like pot or other drugs that ultimately just make things more comfy and foggy. It's kind of a life changing thing with one trip. It's not like you get "addicted" to tripping. You can trip once and just that experience will kind of open entirely new "doors of perception" that kind of stay open forever once you discover what it feels like to go through them.

And then for people like me that are used to the buzz from adderall, when you get right at the threshold of "tripping" while microdosing, you're basically triggering the same buzzy impulse towards doing ANYTHING but it's more mindful and detached and stuff. Even when I'm "jacked up" on microdosing there's like no avoidance anxiety impulses and procrastination and stuff. Like I just stopped going on 4chan entirely entirely.

It gets a full endorsement from me. Try it safely.

And then I think same day did pic related which is also close to being one of I think my "best" ones. Like I did something that was altering my focus in a cool way, did a quick meme attack to goof away the mania/anxiety or whatever, and then focused back onto something more traditional or whatever that I could plow into.

>Why were you sperging out on Brian last night?
Sick of his shit. Pretty sure he's the one that's threatened to kill me and shoot my cats and contact former employers and stuff. Now he's doing the same shit to other art anons that show up. He is regularly the anon that's hassling and antagonizing people until they leave. He's the fucking reason I did the (you) response meme.

Don't feel like pretending to be nice to someone that anonymously acts like a toxic malignant faggot at everyone about anything until they go away and leave him to the safe space of his goddamn "home board." He straight up acknowledged in his buttblasted meta thread that he seeks out new artists that enjoys being at them if he thinks they think they're "hot shit" (aka EVERYONE BECAUSE HE THINKS EVERYONE IS OUT TO GET HIM IF THEY'RE DOING ANYTHING INTERESTING).

And I'm almost done here for a few months. I don't fucking care. He's in every thread anonymously acting like an embarrassing self-important asshole at everyone for no fucking reason other than he sees himself as le /ic/ gatekeeper that will do what the jannies wont (aka make threats against artists if they don't leave after sustained harassment).

>As others have said, the meme subject matter won't get you far.
You sold a pearly merman for $750 but you think there's no consumer interest in memetics?
>It's hard to say with traditional stuff because many people are easily fooled into thinking anything on a canvas is art
pscht pretty uppity coming from a digimon mermanspainter.
