I would just like to remind you people that taking advice from strangers on this board is a pretty bead idea in the first place. If None of you have noticed yet, there is no one great frequenting this board and the general skill level of posts has not improved in the last eight or so years. This is because this board holds no appeal to those on a higher skill level and naturally these people will leave the board and go elsewhere; mainly for inspiration and less for critique.

You might be wondering where these people go and what alternative communities exist for the middling artist and I can assure you that there is really no place (on the internet) better than this one. There exists no other platform for anonymous critique and it is anonymity that remains this boards highest and most effective quality. No one can make any posts without the authority gained from the merit of their own written word. The only true alternative source for critique is in fact, real life. I could source my own experience as a college educated classically trained painter, but this is the internet so I'm lying. The problem with real life is that people are concerned with feelings and not hurting them and this is the main advantage of anonymous posting. There is no consequence to hurting someones feelings in an anonymous platform. So you might be wondering, what really is the best source for critique?

It's you stupid. You are responsible for enabling your own self improvement. That is the secret that tens of thousands to a hundred thousand dollars worth of education should be preparing you for. It really is a magical answer, but in the end it should make some sense that you should be the most effective person at identifying your own weaknesses.

This is an +18 board. If you want to improve, you should train like an adult. Cut the degenerate Chinese cartoons and do some proper still life paintings. If it doesn't look like a photograph or better, keep painting.

Can we have a thread where we post landscapes? I want inspiration of good ones and learn a thing or two. Feel free to post your own landscape paintings too and any resources that can help everyone who is doing them.

I will contribute a few I like a lot and maybe what I'm doing in a day or two.
