but that is good. it's relatively complete, colour palette is nice, characterisation/bit of worldbuilding is all there, it's got a nice cozy feeling to it...like a snapshot, or a postcard.

if you don't realise why this would appeal to so many people, perhaps you are the one who needs to get good. no one will reblog your contextless anatomy studies anon. sorry.

>Have the urge to never work from imagination ever again
>Draw from 3D imagination, and realize I could do it way easier with blender models

I don't really want to though.
It'd be robbing myself of the joy of knowing everything came from my hand.

I'd only do it if I'm doing a commission for someone. I would want everything to be absolutely perfect for them. At that point, it's pointless to worry about my own personal pleasure in what I do. It's all about what looks the best.

>Do this
>Fear that my anatomy is still too poor to move onto rendering
>Decide to stay on anatomy until I master it

None of those books will make you good at drawing the human body. Hampton's book will only give you a good ground to start off of. He even says you need to supplement his lessons with real anatomical studies.

>Thousands upon thousands of artists that are heavily experienced in the fundamentals
>No one ever tells struggling artists that waste years upon years what they should do, and it's a virtual rarity when they do
>Most likely out of fear of creating more competition

Is this the true toxicity of the artistic community?

I can't sit on my high horse. I do the same.

I believe this is mainly a case of OP fucking up his own straw poll by clumping 18+ with small children. I believe it's almost acceptable in spite of this.

19 doesn't feel that different from 16.

>Accomplish 4 hours of useful studying without being mentally tired

What do you guys do to get the best out of your time?

Does anybody know why tablets are inferior to pencil and paper when it comes to learning?

Is the only real issue lines, or is it more than that?

>Want to quit practicing art so I can start animating a cartoon

Is drawing every day (Not studying everyday) better than totally quitting practice?

I've been thinking I would do 2 days of studies, and then 1 day of animation in between.

I might do the reverse though.

Here's the thing about it though. If you're going to educate me, I want to know I can trust your experiences. The best way for me to know is if you post your own art. I can't trust random people when they say "do this this and this" if they're drawing worse than I am.

Thank you so much for the advice,
but does this mean that I shouldn't be dependent on drawing vanishing points on paper since in order to get good perspective you have to put a huge distance inbetween points?
