What program do you use? Really you should just download a bunch of textured brushes and try them out to find the ones you like the best. Pay attention to not overrendering things as well.

I wanted to try this style so I went onto the csp store and downloaded the first rake brush I saw and used it combined with the prepackaged brushes to make this. It took me so fucking long and looked horrible most of the way, so I gave up on doing a full rendering.

try finding some speedpaints in the style you want and watching their process of drawing. You could also look into photobashing for some of the teaxtures.
