I can't copy them if I can't see what or how the fuck they're doing it. I'll check your suggestion, thanks, but a simple search tells me this isn't what I'm looking for. A pure painting tutorial would help me more I feel. I can already render/shade stuff pretty nicely but that's not painting, I just apply flat colors to carefully drawn lineart and just airbrush light and shadows and for generic anime that works pretty well. The real good artists however carve details and textures directly with their magic (to me it's magic) brushes and give their surfaces granular details and can't for the life of me figure out how they do it. There's also what I'd call the "photoshop" way of texturing which involve actually using real textures and slapping them on your drawings and make them blend naturally. Ideally I'd like to master both. I can't really find any tutorial about this.
