First of all resize your image before posting.

In any case, you should sketch things out using simple shapes and lines to start out with a solid base, this will help to keep things proportional and symmetrical. Turning your drawing upside down or taking a picture and flipping it will usually make proportion mistakes more noticeable.

I suggest doing figure studies before jumping into placing your values.
