You really should try this process, some people don't like it because they think the colors look kind of dull but the advantage is that you can color something like that in less than 40 minutes

These were the layers I used, because I didn't have the sketch, I couldn't make a mask, which would make it easier to color certain areas. When you do this, remember to set the layer with the lines in multiply mode

later I can try to make a mini tutorial with some saved work, to better explain step by step
