Don't try doing a pose or anything just yet especially if you are trying to pull one out of your head and apply what you think you know of construction to it, instead make sure that you can first do it correctly. Grab the book you learnt from or any book with the mannequin/construction like loomis or one of the anime books whatever floats your boat and just try and accurately, freehand, draw the same thing. spend as much time as you need to, as many layers or construction lines as you need to, but make sure it comes out correct in the end. Dont be afraid to just stop what your doing and do multiple little sketches next to/on the side figuring out specific parts with simple shapes/forms either like the cylinder arm in this image.

Ignore adding the face on too like you did, a lot of the time when you make arbitrary marks you subconsciously base decisions around them but they may be wrong and influencing your decisions the wrong way (not saying you did you probably added them last for the upload, but if you dont know why you're making a mark its best not to, you can always add it later if needed you just dont want random shit you threw in to meme/complete/have fun with etc influencing what you are trying to learn).
