Ignoring the clear anatomical and proportional mistakes...

The fire + molten lava/metal/whatever should be causes light, not shadow.

If anything, all the shadow should be in direct line with the viewer and the left and right side of the model should be in light (with the fire probably being the primary source of light.

Check picture attached for how a fireplace lights up a room.
