How do I avoid ending up like the pic in the op? i'm 5 months in muh art journey and not progressing scares me at times especially now because it feels like i've forgotten a lot of stuff out of no where. and yes my goal is anime girls in a white void

I was about to comment something like that, I was thinking about how this site ended up going to hell in such a short time (not that it was the best place in the world), a few months ago you could still be here more or less at ease in some thread and you could find very good artists and the kind that are friendly, but since the last MEGA died, the bad moderation and the incessant spamming of threads about AIs, the truth is that this place ended up becoming a cesspit (even more than it already was), I don't know where to migrate to, I hate discord and all the places where it's mandatory to be a namefag, I really feel helpless, I'm not saying that my whole life revolves around this place but I miss having fun with random people and the feeling of not worrying about anything since you are anonymous and whatever autistic thing you do without meaning to do doesn't matter because you are just one of the crowd. my mom threw away all my sketchbooks from when I was a kid, she probably saw them and thought they were junk (and she was right lmao) but I'd still like to have them to look at them today as an adult.

Would using pen brush to ink and then pencils to shade and render be a good idea? Also recommend me a good pen brush for a beginner, I know that it's not exactly easy to use but I'm willing to learn, fineliners are way too thin for me and I want to have control over what kind of a line I'm making at all times, making it thinner or thicker whenever I please. And what's the difference between a fountain pen and a fineliner? Sorry if some of these questions seem retarded, I'm /beg/ as fuck
