What about this, topic hell, but without the hell?
No topic streak, just, whenever a guy feels like it they can jump in and out of topics and each day they submit for a topic they add +1 to a personal little "me good topic daddy" counter.
You get the benefit of a prompt for the day whenever you want one, you can see other submissions for the same prompt by fellow daddies, and you don't have the pressure of losing some topic streak.
