I want to make a silly multi-genre game, so apparently I need to become a silly multi-disciplined artist.

Maybe I should start "small" with an expository comic or something like that-but after all these years I (rightly) don't feel confident enough to even do something rudimentary like that. Fuck me.

Go to

>settings>dockers>animation

and

>settings>dockers>timeline

and the interface will look much like it does here: >>3542714

Right click to "create blank frame" before drawing anything in any new layers. Frames are "exposed" by default unless interrupted with a new frame.

Have fun!

If you don't already have anything particular in mind I'm working on something with another artist right now and our would-be programmer had to bow out due to personal problems, the only caveat is that, while pixel art will be featured in certain scenarios, the game will mostly be traditionally animated and animated through programmed physics behaviours, so it depends on how dead set you are that it be a pixel art game.

If you want to talk about it email me

Good point, and honestly I'd love any information you have about that kind of pre or post or whatever-production stuff because I really don't have the first clue about it.

It also raises another problem I had with ToonBoom though. When I did export something with it it looks all pixelated like this. I don't recall it looking like this in the software nor do I recall compressing its size when I exported it either.

Really frustrating, I feel like I'm bogged down by this kind of miscellaneous stuff almost as much as I'm bogged down by my own artistic inadequacy.
