Should I make my comics look like Manga (Black/White) or look like Anime(Color)? I'll be making a comic soon and I want to eventually print it and try to sell it, I'm not sure which way to go with it, since I'm making it myself so it could be either way. On the one hand, I want it to fit right in on the shelf with actual profesionally published manga (albeit mine be reading wester orientation) in Asia they release the manga with dusk jackets that sometimes have different art to the one in the actual book cover, someties they have a band wrapped around that has some adds for other manga/anime, and I like the black and white art on that type of paper (feels much like a book, and I like that) also that I could probably finish faster since basically done once it is inked.
On the other hand, there is already a shit ton of actual manga out there so it would probably be a good idea to do stuff slightly diferent to what you can already find in stores. I have an Star Wars the Clone Wars comic, full color, trim size is 7.5 x 5.25 in about the size of a dvd/bluray case (and it's like a 140 pages, spine is about as thick as that of a bluray cases), I like that format and I think that if I make an slip-case for it it'd sort of play into pretending it is the bluray for an anime (again, making my comic feel like an anime). Anyhow, what you guys think? Picrel is some pen sketches from couple days ago.
