This was Jean Giraud at around 20-21 years of age, it’s not particularly good work, hell I don’t even think it’s mediocre, but he got substantially better over time. He had to, he was a comic artist under strict deadlines and was drawing day in and day out. I’m not saying that he didn’t have a spark or talent but he had been drawing for years already BEFORE even getting to pic related. Stress is good for you, comparing yourself to other artists to see what you’re doing wrong and how you can improve is also good, but there’s a line where it becomes detrimental and talent becomes an excuse. So just focus on what you can do to make yourself better, not what others already have.
