>Why, why, and how?
It’s visual story telling. You’re asking why are visuals important in a visual medium.
A cartoon thrives on its looks. Snoopy being a dog is key to his character. If snoopy looked like a kid instead of a dog it confuses the viewer and muddies the message. It actually effects how well your story is told. There are several examples in the thread of the animal being conveyed in redraws.

>No, that's gibberish. Animals are animals and sins are sins.
Based retard doesn’t know that animals have symbolism, and in this show they are symbolic.
>There is no canon for animal symbolism through which Joe Viewer could reasonably be expected to interpret any given animal archetype as representing any specific sin.
The deer man is a wendigo reference, he hunted killed and canabalized in life. Wendigos look like pic related. He also practiced voodoo and was a radio host some time in the 1950s or 60s. The point of this show is to absolve them of their sins which their animals hint at. You might as well draw stick figures if you think character design isn’t important you fucking aspie.
>Not all green things are greedy. You are mistaking association for some kind of semiotic rule
Never said green only represents greed. I said green is associated with greed. You are actually too fucking stupid to be replying to me.
>If the character designer of Hazbin Hotel truly meant for the designs to actually communicate some idiosyncratic hidden meaning, then they are fools for even attempting this
Multiple shows do this you fucking moron. Even in naruto birds are associated with freedom. Birds are the symbol of Neji who wanted to be free.
>I would seriously like to see some evidence that this is the case.
https://hazbinhotel.fandom.com/wiki/Alastor/Overview>a character can be designed with a certain thing in mind, without it being important for the viewer to be able to recognize that fact.
Except in this case it is you halfwit.
