So I realized my major problem last night and have been improving greatly in a short time. I spent a lot of time painting minis before giving up on that medium and switching to drawing.
My problem was I am way better at rendering than drawing because painting models is basically a 3d coloring book.
Consequently, I've been drawing like shit so I can hurry up and render and get that dopamine hit from seeing shadows form under my fingers on the surface.
I took more time with this one, but still made the mouth too low and I could have been more careful with eyes and nose lines, etc.
I also realized I should just render the cheekbone bulge instead of drawing the line. I'll try to have a better one next thread.
